Every night Russia covers Ukraine with air strikes. This time a place is hit where the residents can protect themselves very little: a prison.
According to the Ukrainian authorities, at least 16 prisoners have been killed in a prison near Saporischeschja. 35 prisoners were injured, said military governor Iwan Fedorow on Telegram.
According to it, the surrounding area of the large city close to the front in southern Ukraine was attacked eight times at night, presumably with sliding bombs. Buildings were destroyed in the prison system. There is also damage to private buildings. The injured were medical care. The head of administration did not call the exact place.
Hardly any defensive options for sliding bombs
Gliding bombs are dropped by Russian fighter jets over Russian -controlled area near the front and then hit the Ukrainian side in places. The attacking jets are out of reach for the Ukrainian air defense. In view of the short flight time of the bombs over a dozen kilometers, there is almost no warning time for the population.
According to Ukrainian information, at least two people in the city of Kamjanske killed in the neighboring area of Dnipropetrovsk through a Russian rocket attack. Another five people were injured, said Governor Serhij Lyssak on Telegram.
Russia has been moving up war with war for more than three years. This includes all -night air strikes with drones and sliding bombs, often also combined with rockets and marching aircraft. This year the nightly attacks have been reinforced and often includes hundreds of aircraft.
This is how Russian soldiers see the war in Kursk

Russia’s military reports 74 Ukrainian drones shot down
For their part, Ukraine tries to meet military and industrial goals far behind the Russian lines with combat drones. However, the destruction of these drones is lower than that of Russian weapons. The Russian army reported 74 Ukrainian fight drones over various regions of the country on Tuesday night.
