US President Donald Trump puts another pressure on Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin. Trump speaks again about the customs period for Russia – and concretizes it.
The 10-day period of US President Donald Trump for significantly higher tariffs for Russia’s trading partners begins from today. “Ten days from today,” Trump said to journalists on the return flight from Scotland to the USA. Then tariffs will be inserted.
On Monday, the US President increased the pressure on Russia in the efforts to end the Russian attack war against Ukraine. He had announced that the period of 50 days for significantly higher tariffs for Russia’s trading partners to reduce “ten or twelve” days. Now he confirmed this and concretized the counting method.
Trump wants to weaken the economic basis of the Kremlin
With his customs threat, Trump wants to further weaken the economic basis of the Kremlin, in particular that large buyers such as China and India are under pressure. So far, Trump has not carried out which countries could meet it.
Trump’s spokeswoman had recently mentioned the oil sector. If there is no agreement on a ceasefire or a peace agreement within the period, countries that receive oil from Russia would sanction.
