The pressure on Israel because of the devastating situation in Middle East is growing. Now Kanada Palestine wants to recognize after France. The reaction from Israel follows promptly.
After France, Canada also wants to recognize Palestine as a state. “Canada intends to recognize the state of Palestine in the 80th meeting of the UN General Assembly in September 2025,” said Prime Minister Mark Carney. He justified the step with increasingly poor prospects for a two -state solution in the Middle East and denounced the situation in the West Bank and the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip. The term two-state solution means that Israel and an independent Palestinian state exist peacefully by side. Great Britain has also recently been openly threatened with recognition of Palestine if the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not to end the Gaza war and the suffering of the Palestinians.
When asked, Carney made it clear that it was a declaration of intent for his government. In theory, a scenario is possible that he will take his decision back, even if he cannot imagine that at the moment, said Carney. “If there was no scenario, we would act immediately.”
Israel’s government condemned Carney’s decision. The Canadian government’s change of course is a reward for the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, criticized the Foreign Ministry. He a shame to make an effort for a ceasefire in the Gaza War and an release of the hostages captured by the Islamists in the Gaza Strip.
