In eastern Ukraine, Moscow reported the conquest of the strategically important city of Tschassiw Jar, which was immediately denied by Kiev. Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selksyj called for efforts to change the regime in Russia.

Selenskyj calls for “change of regime” in Russia
The Ukrainian President Selenskyj accused Moscow of targeting killing. “Today, the world saw the answer of Russia again at our request for peace that we share with America and Europe,” he said in online networks. Peace without strength is impossible. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko called out a mourning day for Friday.
Selenskyj called the world to penetrate a “regime change” in Russia. Otherwise, Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin will continue to try to destabilize neighboring countries, the Ukrainian president said in an online speech at a conference on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Helsinki KSCE closure, a significant document of relaxation policy during the time of the Cold War.

Selenskyj also called for a complete blockade of “Russia’s war machinery”. “All frozen Russian assets, including the wealth stolen by corruption,” would have to be used to defend it “against Russian aggression”.
It was only on Tuesday that US President Donald Trump Moscow set a period of ten days to end the Ukraine War and otherwise threatened with sanctions. The Kremlin was unimpressed by this.
What is the situation in Tschassiw Jar?
The Ministry of Defense in Moscow announced on Thursday that the Russian troops had conquered the city of Tschasiw Jar in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk. The Ukrainian army denied this. The information from Moscow is a “complete lie,” said a Ukrainian military spokesman for the AFP news agency.
The Russian armed forces have tried to achieve control over the strategically important city for more than a year. If you have now conquered Tschasiw Jar, it would pave the way for the Russian troops to advance to the remaining civilian strongholds in Donetsk – including Kramatorsk and Slowjansk. These are important logistics base for the Ukrainian military. In addition, they are home to many civilians who have not yet fled the fights.
Donetsk is one of four Ukrainian regions that Moscow declared annexed in September 2022. In the previously unsuccessful conversations about a ceasefire and the end of the war, Moscow demands that Ukraine Donetsk and the three other partly Russian regions, which are partly occupied by Russia. Ukraine rejects this as completely unacceptable.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha called for more pressure on Russia on Thursday. Trump “was very generous and patient with Putin”, if it was a matter of finding a solution, Sybiha wrote at X. Putin, however, has no interest in “ending killing”, warned Sybiha. “It’s time for maximum pressure on Moscow.”
