During his visit to Jerusalem, Foreign Minister Johann WadePhul indicates the growing gap between Israel and his partners. The reason is the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Foreign Minister Johann WadePhul has urgently warned Israeli leadership of international isolation if it does not immediately improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. “In many ways, the Middle East Peace process and ultimately the entire region are on a crossroads,” said the CDU politician after political discussions in Jerusalem.
WadePhul referred to discussions in the European Union about sanctions against Israel and the increasing willingness of states to recognize a Palestinian state. “Israel runs the risk of being continuously isolated internationally. I see it as Germany’s task to do everything to prevent it.” Therefore he came to Israel.
With a view to the starving population in the Gaza Strip, WadePhul said: “This is a completely intolerable condition that must change immediately.” A “fundamental improvement for people in the Gaza Strip” is necessary. He also expressed that in his conversations.

The Israeli government is obliged to allow “quickly, safe and safe and sufficient humanitarian and medical help on the country, so that mass extinction can be averted as part of a famine”. WadePhul said: “I have the impression that this was understood today.”
The Foreign Minister had arrived in Tel Aviv in the afternoon and continued to Jerusalem from there. There he initially had a conversation with his Israeli colleague Gideon Saar. He then met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Izchak Herzog.

“It is time to end this war”
The CDU politician also calls for a ceasefire in Gaza. It takes more than fighting breaks now. “It is time to end this war.” This requirement is primarily aimed at the terrorist organization Hamas. She had to recognize that “the hour has now come to leave the hostages released and to stretch the hostages”.
Throughout Friday, the Foreign Minister wants to go to the West Bank and talk to Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas in Ramallah. Topics are also likely to be the increasing violence of Israeli settlers against Palestinians and considerations in Israel to annex the West Bank. This is strictly rejected by the federal government.
