The paralyzed railway lines in North Rhine -Westphalia have just been released for train traffic. According to the train, there is still a third crime scene.
There was a third -party cable fire on the train within two days. After two fire sets in Düsseldorf on Thursday, Saxony-Anhalt is affected this time. A cable fire was also discovered there on Friday evening on a route at the height of the WEBAU district in Hohenmölsen, the Deutsche Bahn said.
“According to initial investigations, this cable fire is also based on arson.” It is a freight traffic route for coal transports.
Previously, alleged arsonists on the Düsseldorf-Duisburg route had paralyzed the important north-south connection of the railway since Thursday. As the company announced, hundreds of trains in long-distance and regional traffic were affected that drive through this section through the Ruhr area every day.
After elaborate repair work on the destroyed cables, train traffic on the affected routes has been released since early Saturday morning. “Everything is going again as it should be,” said a train spokeswoman for the German press agency in Düsseldorf.
The police assume sabotage, the state protection is determined. According to NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU), left-wing extremists are presumably responsible for the attack.
