The management of the Union faction is at a distance to the controversial CDU MP Saskia Ludwig from Brandenburg. The background is pictures that Ludwig show together with AfD party leader Alice Weidel at an event of the right-wing conservative Hungarian thought factory MCC.
“Ms. Ludwig did not take part in the event on behalf of the parliamentary group and without the knowledge of parliamentary group management,” said a spokeswoman for the “Tagesspiegel”. “The CDU’s incompatibility decision applies and excludes any cooperation with the AfD. Every CDU member is bound to it.”
