Caroline Bosbach denies new allegations

Caroline Bosbach had already accused of accepting party money last week. Now the CDU politician rejects another accusation.

The CDU member of the Bundestag Caroline Bosbach has denied further allegations. It is about their choice to the district board of the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (with) in their Rheinisch-Bergische constituency in 2023. The news portal “T-Online” and the ARD magazine “Contrasts” had reported that Bosbach had promised to enter 90 euros, which corresponded to an annual fee. In some cases, it was rounded up to 100 euros. Free hospitality is also said to have been promised. According to the media reports, the choice of the management team, which Caroline Bosbach also belonged to, should be secured.

Bosbach, known from the RTL show “Let’s Dance” and daughter of the former CDU interior politician Wolfgang Bosbach, denies this. “These allegations, which are based, among other things, on manipulated chat courses that have been played and are wrong to the press,” the 35-year-old assures in a video that she published on Facebook and Instagram. “Currently it is being checked to what extent I can also act against this campaign, which only aims at one point, namely to damage my credibility.” At first there was no statement from the MIT.

Bosbach: Cooperate in full

Previously, “Stern” and RTL/NTV had already reported on allegations that Bosbach is said to have accepted 2,500 euros from a CDU party account via detours. The CDU politician also denies this in her video, as she had done in the past week. “I have not enriched myself and the CDU Rhein-Berg did not damage,” she says. The district board has decided to hand over all documents from the Cologne public prosecutor for an independent examination. “I expressly support this and of course cooperate in full.”

Bosbach, who had moved to the Bundestag for the first time after the Bundestag election, continues in her video. She hopes that the allegations could be clarified promptly, especially in view of the current NRW municipal election campaign. In a letter to the members of the CDU in the Rheinisch-Bergische Kreis, Bosbach indicates that they do not want to take on election campaign dates until the allegations are clarified: “I do not want the fictitious and manipulated allegations against me,” she writes there. “That would be the case with every public appearance at the moment.”
