CDU sees unexplained questions at Caroline Bosbach

The CDU MP Bosbach rejects all the allegations made against them. But for the CDU board in your constituency, the matter has not yet been done. It should provide answers – until Friday.

In connection with the allegations against the CDU member of the Bundestag Caroline Bosbach, the CDU sees open questions in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis. “The press public allegations (…) have raised numerous questions that, in our view, have not yet been answered satisfactorily,” said the district board after a meeting on the late Monday evening.

“Today’s email from Caroline Bosbach to the members of the CDU Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, which she also publicly shared on her social media channels, did not contribute to sufficient information,” it continues. Bosbach was personally not available to the district board at the meeting for questions.

District board advises on Saturday again

The district board has therefore asked Bosbach several questions, the written answer of which he would expect until Friday of this week. On Saturday the district board will come together again for the evaluation.

Bosbach had previously reproached himself. On the one hand, it is about your choice to the district board of the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (with) in your Rheinisch-Bergische constituency in 2023. The news portal “T-Online” and the ARD magazine “Contrasts” had reported that Bosbach had given the prospect of an entry of 90 euros, which corresponds to an annual fee. In some cases, it was rounded up to 100 euros. Free hospitality is also said to have been promised. According to the media reports, the choice of the management team, which Caroline Bosbach also belonged to, should be secured.

Caroline Bosbach denies all allegations

Bosbach, known from the RTL show “Let’s Dance” and daughter of the former CDU interior politician Wolfgang Bosbach, denies this. “These allegations, which are based on manipulated chat courses, which were played and are wrong to the press,” the 35-year-old asserted in a video that she published on Facebook and Instagram on Monday.

Previously, “Stern” and RTL/NTV had already reported on allegations that Bosbach is said to have accepted 2,500 euros from a CDU party account via detours. The CDU politician also denies this in her video, as she had done in the past week. “I have not enriched myself and the CDU Rhein-Berg did not damage,” she said. The fact that the district board has decided to hand over all documents from the Cologne public prosecutor for an independent examination expressly support them.

The CDU district board welcomed in its statement that Bosbach wanted to reserve the right to clarify the allegations in the local election campaign and do not make any public appointments.
