Could JD Vance be a successor to the 2028 Trump presidential election? The US President describes him as the current favorite. He will “probably not” run again.
US President Donald Trump sees his vice JD Vance “most likely” as a future Republican presidential candidate and thus as a possible successor. “It is of course too early to talk about it, but he definitely does a great job and would probably be the favorite at the moment,” Trump said at a press conference in Washington on Tuesday.
Trump also brought Vance and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio a possible joint candidacy. “I think Marco is also someone who might be together with JD in some form,” he said. In general, “some incredible people” would be on stage with him. In addition to Vance and Rubio, other government members took part in the press conference, including Minister of Homeland Protection Kristi Noem and Minister of Justice Pam Bondi.
The next presidential election in the USA will take place in 2028. So far, Trump has not completely excluded his own candidacy – he and again and again his environment with a possible third term. According to the 22nd constitution, nobody may be elected to the US president more than twice. On Tuesday, Trump said in an interview with the CNBC broadcaster when asked if he would run again: “Probably not”.
