Trump: Armenia and Azerbaijan will sign peace agreements

Donald Trump wants to present the next peace between two countries and himself as a peace pent. It’s about Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to US President Donald Trump, the heads of state and government of Azerbaijan and Armenia will receive a “official ceremony for signing a peace agreement” in the White House on Friday.
He would receive Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Paschinjan in the White House on Friday, the Republican said on his Truth Social platform. Trump also announced that the United States also wanted to sign bilateral agreements with both countries that take a look at the economy.
Trump also placed an exuberant praise in the post – namely for himself: Many states of the state had tried to end the conflict, “without success, so far, thanks to ‘Trump'”.
Azerbaijan and Armenia: Conflict about Bergkarabach
Between the two countries that achieved their independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, there have been repeated collapse since the 1980s. At that time, the Azerbaijanic region of Bergkarabach with its predominantly Armenian population with the support of Armenia from Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan won the area in 2023, whereupon 100,000 ethnic Armenians fled to Armenia. Baku also maintained military pressure on Eriwan.
In March, both sides said they had agreed on the text of a peace agreement. However, progress has been sporadic and slow since then. The state’s heads of state met in July for talks in Abu Dhabi.
