Insa survey: majority with government and chancellor dissatisfied

The Federal Government of Chancellor Friedrich Merz has been in office for almost 100 days. But many eligible voters are not satisfied, as a current survey shows.

Almost 100 days after the start of the coalition, the majority of citizens are dissatisfied with the federal government and with Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU). In a survey of the opinion research institute Insa for the “Bild am Sonntag”, 60 percent said, only 27 percent are satisfied with the work of the CDU/CSU and SPD. 13 percent did not indicate. At the beginning of June, around a month after the black-red took office, 37 percent were still satisfied and only 44 percent dissatisfied.

The opinion of the head of government looks similar: only 30 percent are satisfied with his work, 59 percent see Merz critically. According to the “Bild”, 43 percent of those surveyed were satisfied with the then Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) after 100 days in office in office in March 2022.

No majority for black and red

In the current survey, 26 percent stated that Merz (rather) better work than Scholz did. 41 percent find his work better nor worse, 27 percent you will find (rather) worse.

In comparison to the traffic light coalition, Schwarz-Rot does (rather) better work according to 28 percent of the survey participants, 24 percent mean the opposite. 38 percent see no difference.

After the current Sunday trend of the “Bild am Sonntag”, Schwarz-Rot currently had no majority of government. Union and SPD would unchanged 27 and 15 percent. The second strongest force is currently the AfD with 25 percent, followed by the Greens with unchanged 11 percent and the left with 9 percent (–1). The alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) remains 4 percent. The FDP comes to 4 percent (+1).

Election surveys are generally affected with uncertainties. Among other things, waning party bindings and more and more short -term election decisions make it more difficult for opinion research institutes the weighting of the data collected. Basically, surveys only reflect the opinion at the time of the survey.
