The Federation Council approved the law on the indexation of military pensions by 8.6%

The Federation Council, during a meeting on Tuesday, February 22, approved the law on indexation from January 1, 2022 by 8.6% of the amount of pensions for military pensioners.

From January 1 to October 1 of the current year, the law establishes a monthly supplement to the pensions of military pensioners and persons equivalent to them in the amount of 8.6% of the assigned pension, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

Earlier, the federal law “On the federal budget for 2022 and for the planning period of 2023 and 2024” already took into account an increase in the monetary allowance of military personnel by 4% from October 1, 2022, which, as a result, will lead to an increase in pensions for persons who underwent military and equated to her service, by 4%.

The federal law comes into force from the day of its official publication.

Earlier, on February 16, the State Duma adopted in three readings at once a law on the indexation of pensions for military pensioners by 8.6%. On average, the amount of payments for the military by length of service in 2022 will be about 33.3 thousand rubles per month.

The explanatory note to the document indicates that the budget for 2022 and the planning period of 2023 and 2024 already includes an increase in the monetary allowance for military personnel and persons equated to them by 4%. It is noted that additional expenses for these purposes in 2022-2024 will amount to 154.3 billion rubles.

Since February 1, a law on the indexation of pensions by 8.6% came into force in Russia. The average insurance pension increased by about 1.5 thousand rubles compared to the previous year and amounted to 18,984 rubles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the indexation of insurance pensions on January 28.

On January 21, the head of state proposed to index the pensions of Russian military personnel by 8.6% from January 1, 2022, RT reports.

According to him, the initiative will affect 2.6 million people. We are talking about retired employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Investigative Committee and other structures, writes REGNUM.
