The talks between US President Trump and Russia’s head of state Putin in Alaska are eagerly awaited worldwide. Now Moscow has announced the time for the beginning of the meeting.
The Kremlin announced the time for the beginning for the discussions expected on Friday between US President Donald Trump and the Russian head of state Vladimir Putin. “It all starts tomorrow around 11.30 a.m. (9:30 p.m. CEST),” said Putin’s foreign policy consultant, Juri Uschakow, according to Russian news agencies. The main topic will be the Russian war in Ukraine.
According to Uschakow, a joint press conference from Putin and Trump is planned after the talks. In addition to Uschakow Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Defense Andrej Belousow, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanow and Kirill Dmitrijew, responsible for the US negotiations, will include the Russian delegation.
On Friday, a summit of Trump and Putin will be expected on the US military base Elmendorf-Richardson at Anchorage. The aim of the talks is to achieve a ceasefire in the Ukraine attacked by Russia in 2022. However, Kyiv will not be represented during the negotiations.
