Brandenburg’s head of government Woidke sees failures in dealing with the AfD. The state association is now classified as right -wing extremist.
Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) admits mistakes in dealing with the AfD. “We have treated the AfD for a long time like earlier rights splint parties. But that’s a mistake, the AfD is different,” said Woidke to the “Handelsblatt”. “It is more strategy, more professional, addresses social fears.” Woidke also admitted that the content of the AfD had often been neglected in recent years. “Errors happened there – also with us in Brandenburg.”
Protection of the constitution is certain: AfD is right -wing extremist
The AfD in Brandenburg is now considered secure right -wing extremist. The protection of the constitution highly classified the national association – to Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony -Anhalt. Brandenburg’s interior minister René Wilke (independent) opened the expert opinion on classified right -wing extremist on Thursday.
The protection of the constitution sees the AfD’s anti -constitutional positions. The state party wants to restore the state party as a “pure” community of German, white people, according to the Ministry of the Interior. The AfD provides the largest opposition group in the state parliament.
Woidke: Prohibition procedure “Dorniger Weg”
Don’t you want to miss anything from the star?
Personally, competent and entertaining: Editor -in -chief Gregor Peter Schmitz sends you the most important content from the star-Credaction and arranges what Germany talks about.
Prime Minister Woidke considers a possible AfD ban proceedings to be an option. “If there is a suspicion that a party wants to eliminate the free-democratic basic order, there is even a duty to act,” he told the “Handelsblatt”. “But it is also clear: it will be a thorny way – politically and legally.” It was right to make preparations now with a working group.
The SPD coalition partner in Brandenburg, the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), does not believe in a prohibition procedure.
SPD and Union in the federal government
The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution has classified the AfD as secured right -wing extremist, but because of the legal approach of the AfD, however, the classification is on hold. The Interior Minister of the federal and state governments have decided to set up a working group in the event that the Cologne Administrative Court should confirm the decision.
In this case, this should evaluate how the classification would affect the public service, the gun ownership and security checks. It is not about a ban procedure. The SPD had asked for immediate serious preparations for an AfD ban on an AfD ban on its federal party conference in June. The Union remains skeptical in the question.
