Civil servant association warns of strike risk

The German Official Association (DBB) sees the debate critically. “Designation does not solve a single problem of pension insurance or public budgets, on the contrary. Around 5.3 million people work in the public service. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, around a third of the public service employees are civil servants. Like other employees, these do not pay the statutory pension insurance, but receive a pension that is fully financed by the state after leaving the service.
