Europe is being integrated into a peace process in Ukraine, says US President Trump shortly before the summit with Kremlin chief Putin in Alaska. And he calls a goal of the talks.
Shortly before the historical meeting with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump once again pressed a fire break in Ukraine. “I want a ceasefire,” said Trump before his aircraft Air Force One plane in the summit city of Anchorage. “I don’t know if it works today, but I wouldn’t be happy if it doesn’t work today.” Nothing is carved in stone.
Trump: “Europe doesn’t tell me what to do”
Trump emphasized that despite close cooperation in the negotiations with Putin, the European allies could not make any specifications: “Europe doesn’t tell me what to do, but of course they will also be involved in the process.”
