Wade phulic criticism of China before visiting Japan and Indonesia

Shortly after the Alaska summit to Ukraine, the German Foreign Minister travels to Asia. In Japan and Indonesia, he sees key partners – also in dealing with Moscow and Beijing.

Foreign Minister Johann WadePhul criticized China for the start of his trip to Japan and Indonesia for its increasingly aggressive appearance in the street of Taiwan and in the East and South China Sea. “The basic rules of our global coexistence are at stake here,” warned the CDU politician about departure. This also has an impact on Europe. This is opposed by the use of “for an international order that is supported by the strength of the right and for all binding rules”.

WadePhul wants to meet Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and several ministers responsible for economic matters on Monday in the Japanese capital Tokyo. A speech is also planned for a peace foundation. “Our freedom, our prosperity and our security – the goals that lead me as Foreign Minister – are not alone in Europe. They also choose to interact with strong partners worldwide,” said the minister to the goal of his trip.

WadePhul emphasizes meaning free sea paths

“In the Indopazacifik, it is very important how certain the freedom of the sea routes, global supply chains and thus the economic development of the whole world remains,” said WadePhul. This is of outstanding importance for large exporting economies such as Germany and Japan, but also for emerging partners in the Southeast Asian community of Asean such as Indonesia. The Minister wants to visit Indonesia on Wednesday.

China challenges the economies of Germany and Japans with unfair and market -stranding trading practices, criticized WadePhul. In addition, the customs policy of the United States is unsettled by companies in Europe and Asia. Germany enters with key partners such as Japan and Indonesia for economic relationships that would build free trade, competition and fairness.

With hardly any country in the Indopazacific area, Germany combines as much as with Japan, added the minister. “We have a values and interests – and we are confronted with the same massive challenges that question our freedom of life.” Japan, like Germany, belongs to the G7 group of countries of economic democracies, including France, Italy, Canada, the USA and Great Britain.

Demand for just peace in Ukraine

China and North Korea’s support for Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine showed how closely the security of Germany and Japan was linked, WadePhul said. The intensive European and US peace efforts would have to lead to a fair peace, the basic security interests of Ukraine and Europe. He expressly thanked Japan for his persistent support from Ukraine.
