The US government is again taking action against the World Criminal Court. Four other people come to the sanction list – in addition to judges, also accusers.

The US government is again imposing sanctions against judges and now also against prosecutors from the International Criminal Court (ICC). These were “in response to the continuing threat to Americans and Israelis,” said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The four people took part in “examining, arresting, arresting or pursuing them under criminal law without the consent of one of the two countries without the consent of one of the two countries,” was Rubios.

Specifically, Kimberly Prost from Canada, Nicolas Guillou from France, Nazhat Shameem Khan from Fiji and Mame Mandiaye Niang from Senegal were placed on the sanction list. Rubio accused the World Criminal Court, among other things, politicization and disregard the sovereignty of the United States. Due to the sanctions, any possessions of the four people are frozen in the USA. In addition, US companies and US citizens are no longer allowed to do business with them. There was no question of an entry ban.

Already in June, the United States imposed four judges from the World Criminal Court with sanctions. President Donald Trump had paved the way for such punishments in February. He accuses the court based in the Hague abuse of power. Trump had ordered sanctions in his first term as US President when the court examined alleged war crimes by US soldiers in Afghanistan. This reversed his successor.

The court has been pursuing the most severe crimes since 2002, such as genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. All EU countries belong to him; The United States, Israel and Russia, on the other hand, are not a contracting states.
