The pressure on Israel because of the humanitarian situation in Gaza is growing. Now report that UN aid work for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa) dramatic numbers
According to UN, the number of malnourished children in the Gaza Strip has tripled since March. In the city of Gaza, almost a third of the children are malnourished, Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN Auxiliary Service for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) on the platform X. This is a number of six times as before the end of the waffle rest in March and the blockade of the gaza strip. “This is not a natural disaster. It is a man -made, avoidable starvation,” he wrote. The basis of the UNRWA numbers is an investigation of almost 100,000 children under the age of five.
Unrwa and other aid organizations have been prevented from bringing relief supplies to Gaza for almost six months. In the warehouses of the organization in Egypt and Jordan, stocks are used, with which 6000 trucks could be loaded and the food contained for three months.
In mid -July, Unrwa had announced that ten percent of the children examined in the organization clinics were malnourished.
Pressure on Israel because of humanitarian situation in Gaza
In the past few weeks, the international pressure on Israel has increased in the contested Gaza strip because of the catastrophic humanitarian situation. After the end of the fire break in March, Israel had not left any relief supplies in the Gaza Strip for months because the Islamist Hamas accused it of taking relief supplies.
This condition has nothing to do with dignity

Even if the war ended tomorrow: the majority of the almost 2.1 million Palestinians no longer have a home. A look from the Israeli side of the border reveals the extent of the devastation. According to the latest surveys by Hebrew University, at least 70 percent of the buildings are destroyed and uninhabitable, around 88 percent of the coastal strip, according to the UN Nothilfebüro Ocha now under the control of the Israeli military (IDF). The population was cried together to twelve percent of the Gaza strip. Since the attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, 60,000 people died in Gaza

Further
The controversial Gaza Humanitrian Foundation (GHF), which is also supported by the United States in addition to Israel, started distributing relief goods at the end of May. This runs in parallel to the use of international aid organizations and should ensure that Hamas does not take food. But in the vicinity of the four GHF centers in the Gaza Strip there were always fatal incidents.
Again dropped of relief goods from the air
According to the Israeli military, 154 pallets were thrown over the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Germany and other European countries also participate in the campaign. However, the dropping of relief goods from the air is controversial because it is particularly expensive and, according to the World Food Program (WFP), a controlled distribution of the relief supplies is hardly possible.
