Another judge decided against the publication of the files for sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein. Donald Trump is likely to come under even more pressure.
Another US federal judge has rejected an application from the US government to publish documents in the case of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Judge Richard Berman said in New York that the Ministry of Justice had not given any sufficient reasons that justified the abolition of confidentiality, as several US media unanimously reported.
This was followed by Berman’s decision of a judge who had also not released documents from the procedure against Epstein’s ex-partner Ghislaine Maxwell last week. Observers expect this to increase the pressure on US President Donald Trump, the police files disclosed in this case.
The background is that Trump announced in mid -July to apply for the approval of selected court documents in connection with Epstein. These are documents that have been presented with so -called Grand juries. These bodies decide whether charges are charged in a certain case. As a rule, the jurors only see and hear statements and evidence that are necessary for an indictment of the accused person – in this case Epstein himself – but do not provide information on the possible participation of other people.
Fans demand release of Epstein files from Donald Trump
Many observers regard Trump’s advance as a distraction maneuver in order to reduce the pressure of his nuclear electorate, which has long been demanding the complete publication of the Epstein documents. Before the election, Trump and some of his today’s government officials had repeatedly indicated that explosive information had been covered up in the persecution and death of the well -networked Epstein – and thus fired numerous conspiracy theories.
Prince Andrew becomes 65: from Mutti’s darling to the outcast
On February 19, 1960, Prince Andrew was born the third child and second son of the British Queen Elisabeth II and her husband Prince Philip. The queen and their husband already had throne successors Prince Charles and daughter Anne. Andrew is said to have always been the monarch’s favorite child. In the meantime, the president does not want to know anything about his original promise, all FBI documents. This ensures frustration with many followers. Several media reported that Trump was named in the documents. Trump and Epstein have been close friends for years.
Judge refers to FBI documents
Judge BERMAR commented directly on the request of the US government: The protocols, which extend around 70 pages, contained the statement of an FBI agent without direct reference to the case as well as evidence material and call protocol. The relevance of this content is limited, he wrote. Instead, according to the TV station ABC, Berman referred to over 100,000 pages on investigative documents that are already in the hands of the government and are significantly more significant for public education.
The decision could continue to make the public debate about a more comprehensive publication of the FBI files. The financier Epstein, who had systematically abused minors for many years, committed suicide in 2019 at the age of 66 in his prison cell.
Epstein’s death led to massive speculation because he had maintained close contacts in the American high society. Prominent and billionaires went in and out of him – Trump can also be seen on several party videos on the side of Epstein. Many Americans therefore continue to demand a comprehensive and transparent information that Trump has not wanted to deliver so far.
