Waffen rest on the table – what does Netanyahu want? The situation in the morning

Netanyahu does not get involved in the ceasefire, employers put themselves in court, Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht in court and very large German cinema. That is important today.
Good morning, dear readers,
War is a chaotic process. In the case of Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip, the location of these days is particularly opaque. Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, cannot be seen in the cards, as is so often the case. A few days ago, Hamas said that the intermediary of the agents of Egypt and Qatar agreed to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The current proposal provides for a 60-day break, while the ten living Israeli hostages are released in return for Palestinian prisoners. In total there are still 50 hostages in Gaza, at least 20 of them should still be alive.
According to several media reports, it is an adapted version of a previously negotiated proposal by the US specialist Steve Witkoff. A few weeks ago, Israel was very open -minded. Now Netanyahu did not comment on this for a long time, but on Thursday he spoke of wanting to immediately take negotiations on the release of all hostages. The relatives of the hostages would be wrong to urge them to accept the deal. It is a step on the way to an even more comprehensive agreement, said Dalia Cusnir, the sister -in -law of one of the hostile hostage.
Waffenruhe is on the table – what does Netanyahu want?
Netanyahu, however, not only drives the settlement building in the West Bank, but also also the take of Gaza City. But here too, the situation is unclear: several times this week it was reported that plans were “approved” at different political levels. So does the offensive run, or does the announcement serve as a maneuver to further increase the pressure on Hamas? It should also have been under this impression that Hamas agreed to the placement offer.
There is increasing pressure from the Israeli population for an end to the war – but there is fear for Netanyahu that his coalition will break the war with his partly right -wing government partners, if he agrees to a deal. Again and again these motifs have driven him in the past to extend the Gaza War, which has recently been shown by the “New York Times”.
With an intake of Gaza City, Netanyahu is likely to continue to isolate itself internationally. Because with all uncertainties about his motifs, one thing is certain: The disastrous location of the people in the Gaza Strip is no longer bearable-taking Gaza city would even worsen the situation if this is at all conceivable. The Red Cross and the UN office for humanitarian affairs impressively warn against it.
Christoph Heusgen, former security advisor of ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel and former head of the Munich Security Conference, has now warned that Israel could develop into an “apartheid state”. “Israel’s security is German State Räson, but it also includes Israeli security that the country does not make and isolates worldwide through the excessive use of military violence and breaking international law,” Heusgen writes in a “RND” guest contribution.
He calls on Germany to recognize a Palestinian state. If the negotiating route does not go any further, Heusgen says, an instrument of diplomacy is to set symbolic signs.
Saving with social security contributions: employers are in position
At the end of August it is now, and it is becoming apparent what the big topic of autumn is: the question of how we stabilize finances in our social security systems, in health and long-term care insurance, pension, unemployment insurance. What we are willing to accept as a society in the questions – and what not.
Employers will also play the topic offensive. In a new report, the employer -related institute of the German economy in Cologne spoke out yesterday to suspend the continued payment of wages for the first days of illness. So far: if an employee is missing due to illness, the Employers continue the salary for six weeks, afterwards the health insurance company pays the sick benefit.
Morgenstern – the newsletter at the start of the day

The advance comes only one day after the employers demanded a so -called “contact fee” for every visit to the doctor. Steffen Kampeter, Managing Director of the Federal Association of German Employers’ Associations, complains of unnecessary visits to the doctor, speaks of a “doctors shopping”-and therefore wants patients to pay money for every doctor’s visit. A kind of entrance fee for the doctor. Doctors, patient protectors and social associations were outraged.
In fact, one would have to make sure that in the end it will not be the one, with fewer income from the doctor’s visit. And there would be exceptions for chronically ill people who have to go to the doctor more often. If you correctly assess Germany there, a bureaucracy.
Sleeing approaches are needed to reduce unnecessary visits to the doctor (and the latter are probably available, at least in Germany people go to the doctor more often than in many other countries). The coalition therefore discusses a so -called primary medicine system: With this, the patients could no longer simply go to specialists, but only if their family doctor considers this sensible.
How repentant Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht really is
Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht is accused of serious fraud: After a party vacation in Austria, the 33-year-old, known as an actor in the “wild guy”, today, especially German reality star, did not pay a bill of almost 14,000 euros for several years.
At the end of June, he was arrested when he arrived at Hamburg Airport, there was a European arrest warrant against him. At that time he spoke of a “big misunderstanding”, and in an Instagram story also of cockroaches that came from her holes-which the cheated Tyrolean host Wilhelm Steindl felt about that had reported Ochsenknecht after repeated contact attempts. So it can be found in the text by Moritz Hackl and Veronika Völlinger who visited the host in his hotel.
After a three -week pre -trial detention in Hamburg and a tour in the prisoner transport to Austria, Ochsenknecht sounds a little different: “Don’t make a shit, people, pay your bills, no matter how defiant you are at the moment!” He said to his followers on Twitch.
How reputable is the 33-year-old really? The process today should show it. Only an hour is scheduled for the negotiations that start around 9h30 in the Innsbruck district court. For severe fraud, which is accused of oxenknecht, a fine or imprisonment of up to three years threatens in Austria.

Our star+recommendation of the day
Your film could have been a niche, says Mascha Schilinski. The Berlin filmmaker chose an unconventional narrative way: “Looking into the sun” accompanies four girls and women through four eras.
Your film already made it to the big stage: As the first film of a German director, the drama won the jury award in Cannes this year and is now going to the Oscar race for Germany. A German makes its way to the very big ones of contemporary cinemas.
“Rarely is you stirred out of the cinema,” writes our author Jana Felgenhauer. What connects generations? What traces do our ancestors leave in us? Are the questions that Schilinski deals with in the film. There are pictures and sentences that are at Watching literally physically acting: tears, shudder, deep air. The film will come to the cinemas next week – you can already find out some insights and backgrounds here.
