Israel plans to take the city of Gaza, in which around one million people are still. The project has now been approved for security advice.
Minister of Defense Israel Katz in Israel has been approved for the use of the Israeli army against Hamas in the city of Gaza. This also contains the reconciliation of the residents of the largest city in the Gaza Strip, said Katz, according to his office. The decision had already been made on Thursday, it said.
Israeli media had previously reported that Katz and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Military wanted to come together for security advice on Thursday in order to approve the plans for taking the city of Gaza.
“The gates of hell will open up”
Katz announced intensive attacks for the area. “The gates of hell will soon open up over the murderers and rapists of Hamas in Gaza – until they agree to Israel’s conditions to terminate the war,” threatened the Minister of Defense. Otherwise, the city of Gaza will look like Rafah and Beit Hanun. Both places were destroyed by Israeli bombing. According to estimates, around one million people are still still in the city of Gaza. The already catastrophic situation of the civilian population could worsen even further.
Netanyahu also had further negotiations on the release of the hostages kidnapped from Israel on Thursday. Indirect negotiations of Israel and Hamas about a new ceasefire have so far been unsuccessful and were recently interrupted.
In Israel it was also speculated that Israel’s announcement of an expansion of the war could be a negotiation tactic to put Hamas under pressure.
