In the federal budget, many billions are missing. What to do? Increase taxes as the SPD wants? CSU boss Söder clearly says no.
Despite the tense financial situation and the billion dollar gaps in the federal budget in 2027, CSU boss Markus Söder categorically excludes tax increases – on the contrary, it instead demands a wide range of taxes and duties.
“We finally have to start reducing taxes,” said Söder in the summer interview of the ARD show “Report from Berlin” to the address of the black and red coalition. “We actually decided to reduce income tax. That would be our goal – especially for medium -sized companies, especially for the hardworking, for the employees.”
“Definitely no tax increases”
With the CSU, there will definitely be no tax increases. This is “firstly a pipe crepe, secondly the wrong way, and now, after we have just reduced taxes, everything would break everything again.”
This was “discussed in detail in the coalition agreement that this does not exist”. In addition, Söder added: “X SPD chairman in the past 20 years always come again and again when they believe that they need better surveys, with tax increases.” That has never worked.
Federal Minister of Finance and SPD leader Lars Klingbeil recently had not excluded higher taxes for top earners and wealthy-and received support for many other SPD politicians. The Union rejects this.
“Citizens’ money away”
Söder said, for example, about the demand for a wealth tax, in practice it has already proven that “the whole thing does not work: legal problems, practical problems”. In addition, all tax increases mostly went to the expense of medium -sized companies, “that’s why we are against it”. According to his words, the inheritance tax should be regionalized: Then the SPD countries could increase them, and “we Bavaria will reduce inheritance tax massively,” he said.
In addition, Söder urgently asked for reforms in the civil allowance: “Citizens’ money and also change fundamentally, significantly reduce the heating law,” he said. The heat pump promotion should be reduced by at least fifty percent.
Söder gives Merz “a one with star”
Söder was positive about the previous government work – after Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) said on Saturday that he was not satisfied. “As CSU, we are not dissatisfied with the previous government work. We have brought in a lot of things, implemented,” said Söder, but admitted that the electricity tax debate and the dispute over the election of judges had “collected a few stupid goals that of course unsettled the mood”.
Söder called his relationship with Merz “Super” – even if he did not involve him in advance in his decision with the partial stop of arms exports to Israel. “It was a decision of guidelines that he made. We then have to respect them.” Overall, he gave Merz foreign policy appearance “one one with star in the first half of the year”.
Disruptions on the edge of the interview
On the edge of the interview in Berlin’s government district, a police operation occurred again. A police spokesman said that 20 to 30 people had tried to demonstrate on the open space of a Bundestag building on the open space of a Bundestag building. The demonstrators were “clearly assigned to the right -wing scene”. According to him, the interview was over at the time.
The ARD also said: “The summer interview with CSU chairman Markus Söder was recorded without trouble.” This was preceded by an incident on July 20 at the interview with AfD chairman Alice Weidel, which was broadcast live on the Internet. At that time there was a loud protest that was strongly heard in the transmission.
