Around one million people stay in the city of Gaza. Israel wants to temporarily move them to the south of the Gaza Strip and take precautions.
According to an Israeli military spokesman, preparations for the controversial project are running before the residents of the city of Gaza. Prevention for the establishment of humanitarian aid centers and tents had already been delivered, wrote military spokesman Avichai Adraee in Arabic on X.
In addition, water pipes and other infrastructure would be prepared. “The evacuation of the city of Gaza is inevitable,” it said. Israel’s government plans to take the city of Gaza in the north of the sealed coastal strip, in which around one million people are supposed to stay. These are to be accommodated in tent camps in the south.
The army spokesman was aimed at all residents in northern Gaza Strip in his post. Every family that moves to the south will receive “extensive humanitarian aid”.
Rumors that there is hardly any space in the south for the accommodation of the recovered people rejected Adraee. In the south of the Gaza Strip, “extensive free areas” are available, such as in the central refugee camps and the “humanitarian zone” in al-Mawasi. Aid organizations repeatedly criticize the catastrophic conditions there.
