War in Ukraine: Many deaths in air strikes – Kyiv demands new sanctions

According to official information, at least 18 people in the capital Kiev have been killed in the heaviest Russian air raids with rockets and drones on Ukraine since the end of July. This included four children, the head of the Kiev Military Administration, Tymur Tkatschenko, said on Telegram. According to the authorities, there were around 50 injuries. “Terrible and deliberate killing of civilians. The Russians do not want to end the war, only new blows,” wrote Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj on the X.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, on the other hand, claimed that the attacks had taken arms and Ukrainian air force bases. All goals were hit, it said.

Russia has attacked Ukraine since Wednesday evening, according to the Ukrainian Air Force with 629 drones, rockets and marching aircraft. The air defense had destroyed 589 flying destinations. Ukraine attacks two refineries in Russia
