Kyiv warns of the new major Russian offensive

Moscow is satisfied with the pace of his conquests in Ukraine. Kyiv fears a new major offensive in Donbass. At night, Russia attacks drones and rockets again.

According to Kyiv, Russia plans another big offensive in the East Ukrainian industrial area Donbass. According to the Interfax Ukraine news agency, Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj warned in a conversation with media representatives in the area around the city of Pokrowsk. “The concentration (on troops) there is up to 100,000, that’s what we have this morning,” he said. The Russian troops prepared the advance. But Ukraine is prepared for this and the situation under control, said Selenskyj.

Battle drones and rockets against Ukrainian cities again

Meanwhile, the Russian military attacked a number of Ukrainian cities with combat drones and marching aircraft at night. The attackers in particular had their sights on Saporischschja and Dnipro this time. According to media reports, the two cities were shaken by severe explosions. From Kiev and other cities, attacks were also reported with Kamikaze drones that are controlled by explosions.

According to military manager Iwan Fedorow, at least one person was killed in Saporischschja, and there are also at least 22 injuries. Some residential buildings caught fire after hits. From the other attacked cities, there was initially no information about possible victims or damage.

Want to take Pokrowsk

The focus is also on Pokrowsk – a mining city in the south of the Donetsk region, which had around 60,000 inhabitants before the war. After months of siege and constant fire, only a few people now live there. However, the Russian troops have so far not been able to take the strategically important traffic junction.

Ukraine has now overcome a crisis in this front section at the beginning of the month. A kilometer -long breakthrough of the Russians was stopped. With counterattacks, the defenders managed to isolate parts of the Russian troops.

Region Donetsk for Putin important

The Donetsk region has a priority for the Russian warfare. In the recent conversations between Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, Kiev’s Russian is said to have called for the region’s task as a condition for freezing the front course elsewhere.

The demand is not officially documented, but Russia had started the war three and a half years ago with the premise of completely splitting off the regions that were only partially held by Prorussian separatists. It was only later that the Kremlin also expanded its regions of Cherson and Saporischschja to the regions of Cherson and Saporish.

Russians refer to large terrain gains

Recently, Russian troops were able to make up for the south of the Donetsk Boden region. In the meantime, some of them even pushed into the neighboring Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the Russian Minister of Defense Andrej Belouusow, Moscow’s conquest war runs successfully and recently gained a clear drive. “If we have freed 300 to 400 square kilometers every month at the beginning of the year, it is now 600 to 700,” said Belouuse at a meeting of the ministry. For comparison: The city of Hamburg has an area of 755 square kilometers.

Belouusow was also satisfied with the Russian air raids on Ukraine. This year, 35 such massive air strikes have already been carried out against 146 strategically important objects of the opponent. As a result, the military infrastructure of Ukraine was severely weakened, he said. Among other things, Russia had massively shot at the day before – and, according to the latest Ukrainian information, killed at least 25 civilians.

According to Belousow, the losses of the Ukrainian military will amount to 340,000 soldiers this year. The minister’s numbers cannot be checked independently – and he did not provide information on his own losses. In the past, both warring parties have mostly exaggerated opposing losses and turned their own under the table or at least talked to them.

The Russian invasion has been running for three and a half years. Moscow, including the Crimea Peninsula, which was already annexed in 2014, is now controlled by a fifth of the Ukrainian state area. Direct negotiations between the warring parties were taken again in May for the first time in three years. So far there is no breakthrough.

Kiev accuses Moscow of carrying out the negotiations to force a military decision. Even at the pace of the conquests mentioned by Belousow, it would still take around 60 years before the Russian military had taken the neighboring state entirely.

USA sell patriot air defense to Denmark

The United States is ready for delivery of several patriot flight defense systems and other weapons to NATO partner Denmark, who wants to support Ukraine in defense fight. The Foreign Ministry in Washington approved the billion-dollar deal, which, in addition to six launch ramps, also includes radar and control systems and corresponding rockets.

Denmark and other NATO members want to support Ukraine in the war against the attacker Russia with state-of-the-art gun systems. Since Germany’s northern neighbor itself does not have patriot systems, Denmark has to buy weapons in the USA.

Kiev has repeatedly asked his western allies in the past few months to better protect Ukrainian cities from Russian air strikes. Since the United States does not want to spend money on new arms deliveries to Ukraine, NATO partners now buy American weapons and pass them on to the Ukrainians.

This will be important on Saturday

The Foreign Minister of the EU countries want to advise this Saturday (8:00 a.m.) at a meeting in Copenhagen about the further use of the war in Ukraine. The question is the question of which additional sanctions the pressure on Moscow could be used to increase.
