US President Trump had already announced in the past to want to move the residents of Gaza. According to “Washington Post”, a report is circulating with more details in the US government.
According to a report, a new US plan for the future of the Gaza Strip provides for an at least temporary relocation of all residents of the Palestinian area. According to the considerations, the United States would take control of the coastal strip for at least ten years, the “Washington Post” reported, citing the 38-page plan, which would be advised within the US government.
At the beginning of the year, US President Donald Trump had triggered international outrage with the announcement that the Gaza strip under US control, resettling residents and building a “Riviera of the Middle East”. Arab and European countries in particular criticized the proposal. Israel’s head of government Benjamin Netanyahu, on the other hand, praised the idea.
The new plan is obviously based on Trump’s announcements. According to the report, the aim is to make the Palestinian area devastated by the Gaza War a holiday area and a high-tech center. The approximately two million residents of the Gaza Strip should therefore be “voluntarily” deployed to another country during the reconstruction or relocated to secure zones within the coastal strip.
The plan provides for six or eight “smart cities” for Gaza
Residents of the Gaza Strip, on the country of which new buildings are built, would receive digital tokens, according to the plans, the “Washington Post” continued. You could use them to start a new life in another place, or exchange for an apartment in one of the six or eight new “smart cities”, which, according to the initiative, are to be built in the Gaza Strip.
According to the report, factories for electric cars, data centers and hotels are also to be created, which are financed by public and private investments. After ten years under the administration of a US loyalty company called Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust (Great Trust), the area is finally to be subordinate to a “reformed and deradical” Palestinian administration. The US State Department initially left an AFP request for the report unanswered.
According to the “Washington Post”, the plan of Israelis was developed from the area of the GHF foundation supported by the USA. The controversial GHF has replaced the previously responsible UN organizations as the main distributor of relief goods in the Gaza Strip. According to the UNs, more than a thousand help seekers have been killed near GHF facilities since the end of May.
The war in the Gaza Strip was triggered by the brutal major attack by Hamas and with it allied militant Palestinian groups on Israel on October 7, 2023. According to Israeli information, 1219 people were killed, 251 people were dragged into the Gaza Strip as hostages.
Since then, Israel has attacked the Gaza Strip massively. According to the Hamas authorities, which cannot be checked independently, more than 63,400 people were killed.
