The tension between Chicago and Donald Trump becomes clearer. The US President could soon intervene with soldiers. The governor of Illinois has clear words for this.
The governor of the US state of Illinois, JB Pritzker, described the sending of the National Guard planned by US President Donald Trump as a “invasion”. Neither the president nor representative of his government would have contacted him or other those responsible in Illinois or Chicago because of the plans, said the politician of the opposition Democrats on Sunday in the CBS broadcaster. So it was “clear” that they “secretly planned an invasion with US troops”, added Pritzker.
Trump’s government had previously announced that it was used to use federal security forces in other major cities, Boston, Chicago and New York of the Democrats. According to a report by the Washington Post, thousands of national guards are to begin in Chicago in September.
Donald Trump: “… otherwise we will come!”
Trump justifies the plans with supposedly rampant crime. In his online network Truth Social, he described Pritzker on Saturday evening as “weak and pitiful governor”, who said “that he does not need help in the prevention of crime”. “He’s crazy,” added the US President with a view to Pritzker. “He should get that in order quickly, otherwise we will come!”
Pritzker and Maryland’s governor Wes Moore have been accused Trump for days to “stage” crises as a justification for the sending of federal security forces. The National Guard and other troops would “have no place on the streets of US cities, unless there is an uprising or a real emergency,” said Pritzker on Sunday.
Illinois governor assumes Trump dark intentions
Pritzker also accused Trump to pursue “other goals” with his plans. Trump wanted to “stop” the congress interim elections in 2026 or take control of these elections. “He will simply say that there is a problem in one choice and then he will use troops that can take control,” said Pritzker.
The mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, also warns of a militarized intervention by the government of US President Donald Trump in the city of the million. With a view to the commitment of the National Guard in the capital Washington, the Democrat Johnson said: “We don’t want to see any tanks on our streets.”
Trump had already ordered the National Guard to Washington in mid-August and subordinated the police of the U.S. capital of the federal control. In June, Trump had already mobilized the national guard and marine fanties in Los Angeles to end protests against his immigration policy. Like Washington and Los Angeles, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago and New York are also ruled by the mayors of the Democrats.
