Aung San Suu Kyi has been in custody in Myanmar since a military coup in 2021. Where exactly? Nobody knows that, says her son. He speaks of a severe heart disease of the former freedom icon.
According to her son Kim Aris, the 80 -year -old Nobel Peace Prize winner suffers great concern about Aung San Suu Kyi: According to her son Kim Aris, “worsening heart complications”. The 48-year-old emphasized in a video that was spread on Facebook that the previous former freedom icon was asked to be treated by a cardiologist. “But nobody knows where it is held and whether someone will take care of her.”
The military’s approach is “cruel, life -threatening and unacceptable,” said Aris. “It has to be released, like all political prisoners in Burma.”

The then DE-FACTO head of government Suu Kyi was disempowered and arrested by the Junta four and a half years ago. Due to alleged offenses, she was sentenced to long -standing imprisonment. Where it is recorded is unclear.
Also, only sporadically details about their state of health penetrate the public. Among other things, there was talk of gum problems, which should sometimes make it impossible for her to eat normally. According to her request for medical care, the Junta is said to have been insufficiently fulfilled.
Suu Kyi campaigned for a violent democratization process in the 1980s and was therefore under house arrest for 15 years. In 1991 she received the Nobel Peace Prize for her commitment to oppression and social injustice. Internationally, however, the politician has been controversial for a long time – mainly because of the state discrimination against Rohingya and her silence to violence against the Muslim minority. In contrast, Suu Kyi is still popular with their own people.
