According to a report by the “New York Times”, Donald Trump ordered a secret use of the US navy sates in North Korea in 2019-it apparently went wrong.
According to a media report, special forces of the US marine killed several civilians in 2019 with a failed hidden use in North Korea. As the newspaper “New York Times” reported on Friday, citing insiders that were not named, the then President Donald Trump approved the mission in which Trump’s negotiations with North Korean rulers Kim Jong Un should be placed.
According to the report, the Navy Seals surprisingly met a small fishing boat during their night landing. The civilians on board were apparently looking for mussels. The US soldiers opened the fire and all killed on board, the newspaper continued. A secret investigation by the US Department of Defense later came to the conclusion that the killings were justified according to the rules of operation.
Congress should examine the use of the Navy Seals
The efforts to approach approach have failed since the last summit of Trump in Kim 2019. Since then, North Korea has promoted its nuclear weapons and rocket program. The White House, the Pentagon and the US embassy in Seoul did not initially respond to inquiries about a statement on the report. US Senator Mark Warner, the highest democrat in the intelligence agency, said that he could neither confirm nor denied the report. However, he called for clarification by the congress. “If there was a time when the congress had to comply with his duty of supervision, then it is now.”
