Tübingen’s Mayor Boris Palmer wants to provide the AfD in terms of content and has agreed to a dispute – accompanied by numerous disorders.
The dispute between Tübingen’s Mayor Boris Palmer (non-party) and AfD state chief Markus Frohnmaier was overshadowed at the beginning of longer disorders. At the first speech, according to Frohnmaier, there were boos and speech choirs, and sirens and trill whistles also shrill.
The police led numerous interferers from the hall – and expressed the references to the place, as announced on X. Mayor Palmer justified the exclusion of the interferers with the house right, which he had as a mayor. “I asked the police to ask those who do not want to allow an exchange exchange to take place peacefully to leave the hall,” said Palmer on stage.
Boris Palmer vs. AfD: Speech choirs in the hall
There had always been interruptions in the hall because the listeners started speaking choirs. One page called “Nazis out” or “There is no right to Nazi propaganda”, the other AfD state chief Frohnmaier claps with “Markus, Markus” calls when moving into the hall.
According to police, more than a thousand demonstrators had protested against the event before the debate. The debate and mayor Palmer Scharf criticized the debate and Mayor Palmer in front of the hall.
He had said in advance that he wanted to disclose the content weaknesses of the AfD in the debate and show that it was incompetent in many areas. The demonstrators think that is pointless. The AfD voters were not at all interested in facts, said a representative of the Grandma initiative against the right. “The AfD is not too disenchanted at the content of the content, as Mr. Palmer says.”
Demos in the area remain largely peaceful
The demonstration was initially largely peaceful, and there were temporarily wrangling between the police and demonstrators on the edge. In advance, the police had also prepared for violent demonstrators. Palmer had previously appealed to the participants of the demos to keep away from those who did not intend to demonstrate peacefully.
The conversation was accompanied by a massive line -up of the police. Numerous emergency vehicles could be seen in the side streets around the hall in Tübingen, and the entrances to the locked area were checked by civil servants.
In return, Palmer had agreed to the dispute in return for the cancellation of an AfD demonstration in mid-July. At that time, the AfD had planned a demonstration in downtown Tübingen. Retailers feared losses of sales and turned to Palmer whether the demo could be laid. The AfD then offered to do without the demo when Palmer publicly discussed with AfD MPs. The OB got on that.
At the event, six different themed blocks should be discussed-three each proposed by Frohnmaier and three of Palmer: freedom of expression, climate protection, internal security and migration, housing and social affairs, business location of Baden-Württemberg as well as democracy and the rule of law. Palmer and Frohnmaier’s speaking time should be stopped. The dispute was moderated by Joachim Knape, who teaches at the University of Tübingen as a professor of rhetoric.
