Mass protest in Jerusalem – Geisel -membered demands Deal

Israel’s army is preparing to take the city of Gaza. Relatives of the hostages in Hamas’ violence fear the worst. The pressure on Premier Netanyahu to end the war is growing.

In view of an impending major offensive in the Israeli army in the city of Gaza, the diplomatic efforts to end the war are in full swing. According to information from the Israeli broadcaster Kan, the mediator states USA, Qatar and Egypt are expected to submit a new proposal for an agreement this week that will provide for the release of all hostages and an end to the war. US President Donald Trump had said shortly before that it was in very intensive negotiations with the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas.

In the evening in Jerusalem, tens of thousands of people asked the head of government to enter into a deal with Hamas in a new major demonstration before the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. The “Times of Israel” estimated the number of participants at tens of thousands. It is one of the largest protest ratings in Jerusalem in connection with demands for a Gaza agreement.

Demonstrators call for immediate negotiations

In the evening, Hamas said that it was open to “opposite ideas and suggestions”, which led to a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of the Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, the import of relief goods and the exchange of hostages with Palestinian prisoners. At the same time, the Islamists confirmed their consent to a proposal by the intermediaries for a ceasefire. The forum of the families of the hostage recorded in Gaza complained that three weeks have passed without Israel previously responded to the response from Hamas to the intermediaries.

In a statement, the forum asked the Netanyahu government in the evening, to accept the currently present proposal to which Hamas has already reacted positively and immediately accept negotiations on a comprehensive agreement on the return of all hostages. The proposal provides for a 60-day ceasefire, while the ten-living hostages are released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

Netanyahu insists on conditions for the end of the war

However, Netanyahu now insists on a comprehensive deal in which all hostages are released in one fell swoop. According to Israeli information, 20 of the 48 hostages located in Gaza are still alive. Whether Hamas would be willing to released all the remaining hostages at once does not show from the Islamists’ explanation from Saturday evening.

Netanyahu also insists on a surrender and disarmament of Hamas – which rejects it. Netanyahu also wants Israel to keep security control over the Gaza Strip, while Hamas again demanded that the Israeli troops were completely deducted. Critics accuse Netanyahu of unnecessarily lengthening the war. His right -wing extremist coalition partners, whose political survival depends, are against a ceasefire.

“The personal survival instinct of the Prime Minister must not be put about the need to bring back all hostages and prevent unnecessary deaths as part of an endless war, the purpose of which is to maintain the coalition,” said the explanation of the hostel family. Relatives of the hostages fear that the planned military intake of the city of Gaza endangers the life of the deported.

Geisel families fear the worst

The families of the hostages from Israel Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Alon Ohel, who is also German citizens, believe that the broadcaster Channel 12 believes that the two were brought there before the city of Gaza’s planned intake. Hamas had released a video on Friday in which the two can be seen. Gilboa-dalal says in a car that he is in the city of Gaza. Several other hostages would be captured in the area. According to their kidnappers, these should remain there during the planned Israeli offensive, as the young man describes.

Under what circumstances the video was created and whether the man spoke from free pieces or under threats was initially unclear. The recording should come from the end of August. Meanwhile, the Israeli broadcaster Kan wants to find out from the head of government Netanyahu that Israel is ready to refrain from taking the city in the north of the coastal strip in favor of a “real agreement”. However, such a thing is currently not available.

Israel’s army shows “humanitarian zone”

In the past few days, the Israeli military has strengthened its air raids to the densely populated city. According to estimates, almost a million people are supposed to stay there. In front of the expected major offensive in the city, Israel’s army showed a coastal area in the southern Gaza Strip as so -called humanitarian zone. The area of al-Mawasi near Chan Junis has essential humanitarian infrastructure such as field hospitals, water pipes and desalination plants, an Arab-speaking army spokesman said.

He asked the residents of the city of Gaza to go to the area as soon as possible. So far, fewer than 100,000 people have left the city. Al-Mawasi had already declared an “humanitarian zone” in December 2023 in December 2023. The tent camps there are already considered hopelessly overcrowded.
