A student asks Charlie Kirk about firearms – seconds later the fatal shot is shot. Now the student talks about what he appreciated about Kirk and what has been burdening him since then.
He asked the right-wing US activist and Trump supporter Charlie Kirk the last question-of all people to gun power in the United States. Then the fatal shot fell. In a video, the 29-year-old math student talks about the moment and struggles with tears. “It’s terrible,” he says visibly, a “tragedy”. “Charlie had two children and a wife,” says the student-even the father of two children-in the video that he published on the platform X and have since verified and spread several US media.
What was the last question of Charlie Kirk about?
The student wanted to know from Kirk how often in the United States’ weapons of transformable perpetrators. A short change of words between the two followed. Then the fatal shot fell. “As much as I do not agree with Charlie Kirk, (…) he is still a person. Did we forget that?” He says in the video and then adds: “From everything he said, I think little is right, but one thing he was holding on is the conversation.”
The student distanced himself from any violence and stated that the police be informed when investigating the crime. “If you drool with enthusiasm about what happened – leave it.” He does not want such an audience on his social channels.
“I couldn’t have asked a worse question”
Since the shot, he has been tingling with the decision to have asked Kirk about gun violence, he reported to the “New York Times”. The fact that this question was actually shot had fueled conspiracy theories on the network. Actually, he wanted to ask another question, the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein or Kirk’s definition of gender. His conclusion today: “I couldn’t have asked a worse question”.
According to the “New York Times”, the student stood in line around 90 minutes before the event began to question Kirk. The newspaper describes him as an avowed liberals in a deeply republican state. Since the incident, he has become increasingly worried about the security of his own family.
The 31-year-old Kirk was killed by a shot on Wednesday on the campus of the Utah Valley University in Orem in the state of Utah. There he appeared as a speaker. The event was part of a nationwide tour of several universities that was designed to debate political and social issues with people. The shooter is still fleeting.
