The heavy battles on the front are ongoing. Selenskyj assumes that Russia lacks strength. And expects deliveries for air defense.
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj assumes that Russia can no longer start a major offensive in his war of attack. “I believe that there is currently a lack of strength for large -scale offensive,” said Selenskyj in the evening on the platform X and pointed out that Russia had lost so many soldiers that it could not carry out any strong additional actions.
His information cannot currently be checked independently. Russia has been waging a war of attack in Ukraine for more than three and a half years. Both sides provide information about their own losses hardly ever, occasionally, experts consider to be clearly too low.
Selenskyj said that Russia prepared offensive operations along four main axes this year: Sumy, Nowopawliwka, Pokrowsk and Saporischschja. “The operation in Sumy has already failed – Russia has suffered serious losses, especially on human life, and has moved troops to other fronts.” The Ukrainian armed forces had added even greater losses there.
At the beginning of August, the Ukrainian commander -in -chief Olexij Syrskyj said that the situation in the eastern Donetsk area at the front sections near Pokrowsk, Dobropillja and on the border to the Dnipropetrowsk region at Nowopawliwka was particularly critical.
Selenskyj expects rockets for air defense systems
In his own words, Selenskyj expects the early delivery of rockets for the air defense systems Patriot and Himars. Ukraine has already received more than two billion US dollars from its partners through the so-called NATO mechanism Purl (“Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List”).
In October, his country expects further funds, so that the total amount will amount to around $ 3.6 billion. The first two packages worth $ 500 million each would certainly contain rockets for patriot and Himars systems, among other equipment, Selenskyj.
With the new NATO mechanism Purl, the alliance coordinates the implementation of the delivery of weapons that are procured for Kiev in the USA, but is financed by partners of Ukraine.
