Black-red debt: What remains of the rosy future? The situation in the morning

Merz succeeds in how to make the traffic lights fail, the public law shooting may have an own goal and homeowner should now pay attention to something. That is important today.
Good morning, dear readers,
Three and a half months before the year is over, Schwarz-Rot is expected to create what the previous government had failed: to decide a household for 2025. This can now also succeed because the opposition has committed itself together with the government that Germany can do more debts – which today’s Chancellor Merz had previously denied the government leader of the then government.
Schwarz-Rot now makes grateful use of this possibility: the new debt is likely to increase to more than 140 billion euros, in the core budget of almost 82 billion euros in loans in the core budget.
Black-red debt: What remains of the rosy future
Debts are not bad per se, they can make sense, for example to make up for urgently needed investments that have been missed in the past. A good example is the dilapidated infrastructure of Deutsche Bahn. The promise: a reformed country that works better in the end and is therefore more efficient.
However, this rosy future only realizes if the debt allowance is really invested in the modernization of the country. This is not only the opposition of doubts, but also leading economic research institutes. The employer -related institute of the German economy (IW) concludes that the government uses part of the funds from the special fund to stuff household holes.
Mind you: a part, not everything. Nevertheless, this government is playing credibility. It is to be hoped that black and red will bring about the necessary savings for the upcoming households through reforms-and then no longer trick the investment funds that we need for the future.
When dealing with “clear” presenter Julia Ruhe, the public law does not make a good figure
In the end, it could turn out to be a classic own goal for the public law: At the beginning of the year, NDR and BR, both part of the ARD, launched the common format “clear”. According to its own statements, this should take up disputes that are “controversial in the middle of society”. The obvious request: people who have turned back from the ÖRR to bring back with this format.
The young journalist Julia Ruhs was used for the format, which had previously been noticed with a comment on “Gender Gaga” in the “ARD-Mittagtagmagazin” and with a “daily topics” comment for a harder asylum policy. After only three episodes, the NDR is now separating from Ruhs. For this, the broadcaster gets criticism from the Union. “If other opinions are no longer accepted, but excluded, it is a real problem,” said Manuel Hagel, CDU head of state in Baden-Württemberg. Especially with public service broadcasting, which everyone finances with their fees, it has to work differently.
So far, the NDR is guilty of a conclusive reason. However, it is no secret that the first three of Ruhs was responsible for unrest in the station, moderator Anja Reschke, for example, had “clear” in her own show as a “a bit right -wing extremist”. The NDR program committee apparently came to the conclusion this week that the first “clear” episode on the subject of migration did not meet its own quality requirements, the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” reports. But was it so serious that it justifies the separation of Ruhs? And then why does the BR stick to it anyway? The topic should continue to deal with us.
Watch out to home owners: Each third residential building insurance assessed as “poor”
For homeowners, your own four walls are often the most valuable that you have. Residential building insurance should secure in the event of damage. But now the Stiftung Warentest judges more than every third tariff as “poor”. This affects the entire industry, also providers such as Allianz, Arag, Devk, Hanse Merkur, Nuremberg or WWK.
The reason for the poor assessment: In these tariffs, the insurance companies do not pay all the damage with “gross negligence”. “That doesn’t sound bad,” writes Matthias Urbach, “but makes a huge difference.” But the good news: there is also a lot of “very good” or “good” tariffs tested, you just have to know which one.

Our star+recommendation of the day
Quick slim with just one puss a week? For many, this is a promising promise. Since their introduction, the so -called weight loss injections, which lead to feeling less hungry, exceeded the hopes of many people and doctors. Depending on the dose and preparation, users pay 170 to 500 euros a month.
The elevation of the weight loss has just begun: We have been available from Wegovy since summer 2023, the classic weight loss injection with the active ingredient Semaglutide, which is also in the more well -known Ozempic. At the end of 2023, the even more effective Mounjaro followed in Germany.
Now the next funds are pushing onto the market. More than 100 drugs for obesity or diabetes are tested worldwide. But a debate is overdue, our authors write, namely: who actually needs the funds and who should control this.
