Despite international criticism, Israel carries out his military offensive in Gaza City. Now Hamas brings the remaining hostages into play.
With a photo montage, the radical Islamic Palestinian organization Hamas threatened with the fact that the hostages still captured in the Gaza Strip could never return. The background is the latest military offensive in Israel in Gaza.
The armed Hamas arm, the Essedin-Al-Kassam brigades, released recordings of 46 hostages on the online service Telegram on Saturday and explained that because of the “rigidity” of Israel’s head of government Benjamin Netanyahu and “submissiveness” by Army boss Ejal Samir, it was “farewell photos”.
In the associated text, Israel’s head of government Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of refusing an agreement on an armistice and the release of the hostages. At the same time, chief of staff Ejal Zamir is accused of carrying out the command to conquer the city of Gaza, although he was reportedly against it.
All photos had also been provided with the name of the Israeli Air Force pilot Ron Arad, which has fallen over the South Libanon and since then missing. His unclear fate continues to move the Israeli public. The recovery or lost soldiers are considered a national obligation in the country.
Hamas wants to stop Gaza offensive with hostages
On Tuesday, Israel started a highly controversial soil offensive in the city of Gaza, in which hundreds of thousands of Palestinians live. Family members of the Israeli hostages still held in the Gaza Strip, the government asked the government to stop the offensive to fear them for the lives of their relatives. German citizens are also among the hostages.
Hamas had warned days ago, the beginning of the Israeli offensive in the city meant that none of the kidnapped people would return depending on Israel. As a result, Hamas brought the hostages kidnapped out of tunnels from Israel and distributed them to several quarters of the city of Gaza in order to prevent the Israeli army of attacks.
Israeli relatives worried about remaining hostages
A worthy funeral is of the greatest importance for Israelis for religious, human and social reasons. This also applies in particular to fallen soldiers. The army has a code that provides that soldiers are “not left behind” – neither alive nor dead. This promise is also intended to strengthen the morality of the troop.
Netanyahu accused relatives of people who were dragged from Israel during the Hamas massacre dated October 7, 2023 from Israel to sacrifice the hostages with the soil offensive. They fear for the life of the kidnapped – and that Hamas could abuse it as a human protective shield. According to Israeli information, at least 20 of the remaining hostages are still alive – including German citizens.
The Islamist Hamas and its allies had brutally attacked Israel on October 7, 2023 and thus triggered the Gaza War. According to Israeli information, more than 1200 people were killed in the major attack, 251 others were delayed as hostages in the Gaza strips. 47 people are still captured by Hamas, according to Israeli information, at least 25 of them are probably already dead. Israel is massively military in the Gaza Strip in response to the Hamas robbery. So far, more than 65,000 people have been killed after independent information that cannot be checked by the Hamas authorities.
