Despite stop: Afghan families enter to the lawsuit

Although the recording program has been stopped, some Afghans are allowed to travel to Germany with admission to Germany. How does the procedure work and why did you first have to go to court?

For the second time since the black and red coalition took office, Afghans came to Germany with an admission to Germany. As a journalist of the German Press Agency at the airport in the Pakistani capital Islamabad learned, they were brought to Hanover by loft flight in Istanbul.

According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, there are five people who had received a corresponding promise and their relatives – a total of 28 people, 16 of whom are minors. After waiting for a visa for a long time, they had contacted a German administrative court.

At the beginning of the month, 47 people from various German entrance programs had already been brought to Hanover for particularly endangered people from Afghanistan and later distributed to the federal states. Once again, the newcomers are going to the Friedland border crossing camp before they are assigned to different federal states according to the so -called Königstein key.

New federal government stopped recording program

Many Afghan families have been waiting in Islamabad for months or years. The black and red federal government had stopped the recording program for particularly endangered Afghan women in May. In addition to former local forces of German institutions and their relatives, Afghans should also be admitted through the program, who have to fear the persecution by the Islamist Taliban, for example because they have campaigned in the past as lawyers or journalists for human rights.

The fact that some of those affected and their relatives have now received visas is because they had sued in Germany to enforce their entry. Some of those affected are supported by the “Kabul Airbrücke” organization. “It cannot be that people have to complain before German courts so that this federal government adheres to applicable law,” criticizes the Greens Member of the Bundestag Schahina Gambir.

Since the German Embassy in Kabul has been closed in August 2021 since the Taliban of Islamist has been taken over, people from the recording program in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad go through a test procedure. Among other things, it is about a doubt -free determination of your identity and a security check.

Several dozens of court resolutions

The Federal Foreign Office says that there are currently around 90 rigid decisions from the Berlin Administrative Court. So far, Visa has been granted to 75 people in connection with court resolutions to recordings of Afghans. Around 110 rush procedures are currently pending at the court.

Around 2,000 people from the German recording program are currently waiting in Pakistan to leave Germany. In addition, there are almost 250 Afghans with a reception commitment or a corresponding explanation that have been deported from Pakistan to Afghanistan since August 13. The Federal Foreign Office had reported that they are trying to return to Pakistan in order to continue the visa process.
