Another drone alarm via airport in Denmark

Larger drones have just paralyzed Copenhagen Airport. Now another airport is affected. This time the extent seems to be far smaller.

Just two days after the drone alarm at Copenhagen Airport, a similar incident led to the temporary closure of airspace over another Danish airport. Drones were spotted near the Aalborg Airport, the airspace there was closed, the police in the North Jutland region said on Wednesday evening on platform X. The police are on site and investigate.

The sales and marketing director of the airport, Martin Svendsen, confirmed the information to the Ritzau news agency. The Flightradar24 portal also reported on it and wrote that three arriving machines had been redirected to other airports. An incoming flight and two outgoing connections were canceled.

Drones still in the air after hours

According to the Danish broadcaster DR and TV 2, police operations manager Jesper Bøjgaard said at midnight in front of reporters that at 9:44 p.m. several drones had been spotted that were still in the air. He couldn’t say exactly how many it is. The size is also not yet assessed, but you can recognize them from the ground with their lights.

If you receive the possibility and this is justifiable, you will get it from the sky, Bøjgaard announced. There is no danger to flight passengers or residents due to the drones according to the current status.

Significantly smaller airport than Copenhagen

It was only on Monday evening that the viewing of several larger drones had led to a good four -hour blocking of the Copenhagen airport, which is one of the most important airport of Scandinavia. Around 100 flights were painted, tens of thousands of passengers were affected by impairments. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen spoke of “the most difficult attack on Danish critical infrastructure”. Who is behind it is still unclear. In the meantime, flight operations in Copenhagen are running normally again.

The drone activity in Aalborg is about that in Copenhagen, said Federal Police President Thorkild Fogde in a nightly press conference. You can see a similar pattern, the drones are clearly visible and on the move with the light switched on.

The airport in Aalborg is far smaller than the Danish capital airport. According to the airport website, the last flight from Copenhagen should actually arrive there at 11:50 p.m., the first plane back to the capital the next morning at 6.20 a.m.
