Denmark is currently worried. Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius sees this sees a new reality that has to be dealt with. It is not a war, but …
After the appearance of drones over several airports in Denmark, Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) speaks of a new reality “with which we deal with”. Drone survival is not a surprise for him, said Pistorius on the edge of the conference of East German Prime Minister at Ettersburg Castle near Weimar. “We are not in war, but we are no longer in the complete peace. We are attacked, hybrid, with disinformation campaigns and just through drone ingress.”
According to his Danish colleagues, it was not yet clear where the drones came from. However, their use belongs to the strategy of Russian President Vladimir Putin – without “we could say it in concrete terms in this case,” said Pistorius. The Prime Minister Conference is also about defense structures in East Germany.
Just two days after the drone alarm at Copenhagen Airport, further drones were spotted about a series of airports in NATO-Land Denmark on Wednesday evening until Thursday.
