Marla Svenja Liebich: Authorities are said to have known about escape plan

The right-wing extremist Marla Svenja Liebich is said to have informed the Ministry of Justice of Saxony-Anhalt before the planned start to caught up that she will not take care of. Minister of Justice Franziska Weidinger (CDU) informed about a corresponding letter in the confidential part of the legal committee, as several members of the state parliament of the German Press Agency confirmed. In this context, Weidinger spoke of an “application of grace”.

At the DPA request, the Ministry of Justice announced that it was a confidential committee meeting, the answer to questions about this “of legal confidentiality”. The ministry will contact the chairman of the legal committee with a confidential letter.

According to MPs, the letter only arrived at the public prosecutor’s office days after the planned start of prison. Weidinger is said to have spoken of an “office leave” in the committee meeting last week.

Because of the scheduled confidentiality, no MP wants to officially comment on this. But there is criticism among the MPs about the delay. A member of a member described that everyone was “moved by thunder” in the committee. So far, however, it is not known whether the letter of Liebich is real.

Liebich should have been prisoned in the prison in Chemnitz until August 29, but had not appeared and continued to disappear. “The state of affairs is unchanged,” said Chief Prosecutor Dennis Cernota of the German Press Agency.

Liebich was sentenced to a total prison sentence of one year and six months without probation in July 2023 – at that time still as Sven Liebich – by the Halle District Court for sedition, bad subsequent speech and insult. The appeal failed, as did the revision later.

At the beginning of this year it became known that Sven Liebich had his gender entry from male to female and the first name in Marla Svenja changed.
