Donald Trump’s revenge campaign has reached a new highlight: his loyal minister of Justice is accompanied by ex-FBI boss James Comey. Who may also have to tremble.
Donald Trump had promised her in the election campaign – and he holds his word: revenge. The US president’s retaliation campaign against alleged enemies is in full swing. He has now reached the next milestone, the public prosecutor is accusing the former FBI director (and sharp Trump critic) James Comey. The accusation: “SChwerwegenden Violations in connection with the transfer of sensitive information “.
All of this does not happen on Trump’s commitment, but it does to his public, repeated urge. Just a few days ago, he had raised the completely inexperienced but loyal lawyer Lindsey Halligan to the federal prosecutor after her predecessor refused to complain about Comey due to a lack of evidence.
Donald Trump converts justice to the revenge instrument
In the first eight months of his term, Trump wasted no time to convert the Ministry of Justice into his private revenge tool. He had numerous prosecutors and investigators cheering on criminal proceedings against him and took these cases as an occasion to initiate investigations against his political opponents.
The president openly threatens to punish those who took part in the “political witch hunt” against him. Three names keep falling: James Comey, Letitia James, the New York prosecutor, and Adam Schiff, the Democratic Senator. From Trump’s point of view, they are “guilty like the devil”.
Further examples show that Trump is more important than anything: In his first term, Trump exchanged around 90 percent of his cabinet and consultant posts, many of them several times- presidential record. For his second attempt, he had praised improvement to avoid chaos as in the first term. And in fact, significantly less prominent minds have been rolling since Trump’s return. In the management team, the president rely almost exclusively on absolute, irrefutable, if necessary also blind loyalty.
But the unity of the first row, which is displayed, distracts from the clear cut behind it. Trump continues to fire. Those who don’t sprint flies. And the expulsion could often be the beginning. Trump’s henchmen in the judiciary are ready to complain about further cases.
