After the continued drone alarm in Denmark, the investigation is in all directions. The police also look at the border with Germany. And then there would be a Russian warship.
After the repeated drone alarm, the Danish police also take a look at the border region to Germany at airports and other critical infrastructure in the country. “We are particularly vigilant on the Danish-German border in Süderjütland with regard to the possible transport of drones across the border,” the police from South and Süderjütland- the part of Denmark, which is located north of Schleswig-Holstein- announced on platform X.
There has been a drone alarm in Denmark for days. Only the viewing of several larger drones had led to the hours of full closure of the Copenhagen capital city airport. Just two evenings later, drones appeared over various airports in the western Denmark in the dark, which led to the blocking of airspace, among other things, at Airport Aalborg.
Prime Minister: “Hybrider War”
It is still unclear who is behind the incidents. The authorities assume a professional player with the necessary skills that wants to create unrest in NATO country. In the room there is assumption that the drones may have been controlled from a ship. Authority representative did not give new details at a press conference on Friday.
The government speaks of a “hybrid attack” to which Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen now tightened her tone again. According to the secret services, there is no immediate military threat to Denmark, she said the evening before at the radio station DR. “But what we experience in Denmark these days is in my opinion hybrid war.”
Similarly, she commented on the Danish people in a video address. Even if you do not yet know who is behind the incidents, one can see one thing: “It is above all a country that is a threat to Europe’s security – and that is Russia.”
New day – new drone sightings
The events are part of a pattern that is also observed in other countries, said Frederiksen at Dr. At DR. The situation was far from over, she said.
The local police had reported that the local P4 Blekinge reported that in the evening, several residents of the police had reported that they should be right: In the archipelago of the southern Swedish city of Karlskrona, several residents of the police had been observed in the evening that they had observed two drones near a naval base. The police were able to see the drones themselves with their switched on light, said a spokeswoman.
There was also a new viewing with a short -term airspace closure above midnight above midnight. According to the police, drones could not be verified. In another incident in Billund on Friday morning, the supposed drone activity in the sky turned out to be a shining star.
In general, the Danish authorities are currently reported extremely many drone sightings. In the past 24 hours, more than 500 reports from drone observations have been received nationwide, the Danish Reich Police said. Take each of them seriously.
Report: Russian warship has been nearby for days
The tabloid “Ekstra Bladet”, meanwhile, reported on a Russian warship that has been near Danish waters for days. Most recently, the ship, the part of the Russian Baltic Sea fleet, was unchanged in a sea area near the island of Langeland north of Fehmarn – and thus removed around 70 to 270 kilometers from the affected airports and other systems, the sheet wrote.
Reichspolice chief Thorkild Fogde and other representatives of the authorities did not want to comment in more detail. Fogde said, however, that data from shipping traffic flows into the investigation – including foreign ships.
