NATO General: Ukraine improves attacks deep in Russia

Ukraine relies even more on drones and far -reaching weapon systems – with military success, even deep in the Russian hinterland. NATO supports this development.

The coordinator of NATO support for Ukraine, Maika General Maik Keller, certifies the country significantly increasing skills for the counterattack in Russia. “The Ukrainians become better in achieving a targeted military-relevant destinations in Russian depth. This is a question of ability and ability is personnel, material and training,” says Keller in an interview with the German Press Agency.

In order to further strengthen Ukraine, armaments cooperation with the country would be expanded. Extensive weapons are among the projects, says Keller, the deputy commander of the NATO initiative to support Ukraine (NSATU).

Ukraine aims at Russian refineries

The Federal Government recently announced that the Ukraine would give Ukraine 300 million euros for the production of far -reaching drones. The declared goal is to manufacture several thousand of these weapons systems. Ukraine had recently recently presented its Flamingo marching missile and finally strengthened blows against refineries in Russia and the industrial infrastructure for diesel and petrol.

Anyone who enters the greater area of the NATO position in the Lucius-D. Clay barracks in Wiesbaden will be very present against the Russian attackers that has now been more than three and a half years of defense against the Russian attackers.

Business work closely on closely experts from 30 nations, including Ukraine itself as well as Australia and New Zealand as non-Nato countries to ensure that the need for weapons, ammunition, spare parts and equipment can be continued. The Ukrainians are also advised and introduced to NATO standards. In practice, however, learning is not a one -way street.

The NATO countries also learn from Ukraine

“Drawing technology is the best example. In drones, few in the world can show something in the world. We speak not only of the kinetic effects of the drones, but of the type of war that has changed. We also learn from that,” says Keller.

In addition to combat drones, unmanned systems have also established themselves in Ukraine for logistical tasks and for the transport of wounds. There are drones at sea. German industry can learn technically. The Bundeswehr and other NATO countries learn about processes and doctrine.

“The core order is the coordination of Ukraine support. We would be stupid if we would not use all the information for our further development,” says Keller. “If we are unable to save our soldiers certain experiences that the Ukrainians have had, we as a military leader have not fulfilled our mandate.”

The Bundeswehr itself is currently obtaining Kamikazedrohnen – so -called Loitering ammunition – for the attack and wants to introduce new weapons systems to defend drones as quickly as possible.

Ukrainian drone commanders illustrate warnings

“What makes sense militarily is to establish a drone ability to establish this struggle for the struggle, on the respective military level,” says Keller. “Train, company, battalion, brigade and above have different ranges in depth and for this range there must also be an ability with drones.”

In July, NATO Robert “Magyar” Brovdi had a guest at a conference. The former businessman is head of the drone forces and can be considered the father of the drone war in Ukraine.

“Without getting here to ten kilometers, four teams of Ukrainian drone pilots can make this property another Pearl Harbor in 15 minutes,” he warned. “I don’t want to scare anyone. But these technologies are now easily accessible and cheap.” In any case, joint efforts are in mutual interest.

It depends on quantity and perseverance

The effect of military aid for Ukraine comes from the sum of the support and the consistent, says Keller. The expectation: “Then you can push the Russians into a position, at some point to consider: Okay, this leads to nothing. We have to negotiate.”

In contrast, Keller sees peculiarities of the debate in Germany. “We had the discussion in Germany that battle tank Leopard had to be delivered. Then we had the Taurus discussion. It is believed that the weapon that is currently being discussed is the gamechanger. From a military point of view, this is nonsense,” he says.

There is no system that could significantly change the course. It is always the sum of the different things. “And far-reaching fire is an aspect that can make life more difficult for the Russians-in German. Because you can either shoot the arrow-with Patriot and Iris-T-or you can switch off the archer.”

No signs of breaking the front collapse

Ukraine with western support has been holding it for more than three years. The Russians try to struggle with great losses, but this is only slow and sometimes not possible.

“We now have a static course there. The 20 kilometers in front of and behind the front are in principle dominated by the drones. This has meant that the combat tanker no longer has the importance he had before in this current combat phase,” said Keller. Both sides therefore go towards smaller combat formations – on motorcycles and quads – and try to take a look through. The picture can also change again.

NATO ultimately helps everything that will give Ukraine to support. Keller says: “But it cannot go forward, since we unfortunately also have to expect Russia to test it. You can currently see that in Poland and Estonia.
