What the Social Democrats should give up: In the future, she will not only provide a mayor in the AfD stronghold of Gelsenkirchen, but will also sit in Cologne again in Cologne after ten years. However, the fact that the mayor in Dortmund was not posted by the SPD for the first time since 1946 is a bitter blow for the Social Democrats. But the warning shot from the local election from two weeks ago was probably heard. “We have to correct parts of our program,” stated SPD head of state Sarah Philipp on Sunday evening. SPD federal chairman Bärbel BAS stated that the “concerns of people have to take seriously”. What in turn raises the question of what has actually been taken seriously at the SPD in recent years?

Donald Trump thinks on revenge, that is not a new knowledge. The US President had already announced in the election campaign to bring about a government of retaliation. However, the indictment against Comey is more than just a revenge. It is a warning to Trump’s political opponents that the Ministry of Justice no longer determines independently, but is listed to the President. “This wall has collapsed completely – with this case. It is unprecedented to have a president who basically points out his people to accuse a specific person because he is angry with this person,” says the lawyer and former prosecutor Laurie Levenson in our interview.

Trump creates a climate of fear in the country, because nobody knows who the next can be. There is enough enemies for Trump: be it late-night presenter Jimmy Kimmel, the democratic Senator Adam Schiff, California Governor Gavin Newsom or the New York General Prosecutor Letitia James.
