Fighting drones have become a dreaded weapon in the war. According to Kyiv, a cheap Ukrainian drone was now doomed to a Russian helicopter.
According to its own statements, the Ukrainian military has shot down a Russian helicopter with a remote -controlled drone. It was a MI-8 helicopter, said the head of the Ukrainian drone troops, Robert Browdi, at Telegram. According to the 59th Brigade, the shooting took place in the area of the village of Kotljariwka in the eastern Ukrainian area of Donetsk. Multi-purpose helicopters of the Soviet type MI-8 have been produced since the 1960s.
The front line runs just a few hundred meters from the village. A remote-controlled Kamikaze drone of the US type “Shrike” was used, the manufacture of which, according to media reports, only costs a few hundred US dollars.
Ukraine has been fighting against a Russian invasion with western help for more than three and a half years.
