Donald Trump introduces Peace Plan for Gaza – Israel agrees

Israel accepts the plan of US President Donald Trump to terminate the Gaza War with the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas. “I support your plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a meeting with Trump in Washington. It is currently unclear whether Hamas will agree. According to its own, the terrorist organization has not yet received the plan. Hamas had not participated in the conversation on Monday.

The plan provides for a quick release of the remaining hostages from Islamist Hamas – in return for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners – and the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip. The terrorist organization Hamas should no longer play a role in the administration of the coastal strip, and Israel is also not allowed to annex the area. Instead, a transitional government of “apolitical” Palestinians and international experts should ensure the daily administration of the Gaza Strip and the care of people. A “Peace Council” under Trump’s direction and with the participation of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is to monitor and supervise the expert government.

“I believe that today we take a crucial step towards the end of the war in Gaza and that we can create the prerequisites for dramatic progress in peace in the Middle East – and, I think, also in very important Muslim countries -” said Netanyahu in Washington. The plan is in line with the conditions of Israel for the time after the war, said the Israeli head of government. “We will bring all of our hostages back to Israel, dismantle Hamas’ military capacities, end their political rule and make sure that Gaza never represents a threat to Israel again.”
