According to Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israel supports a peace plan of US President Trump. This is what the plan looks like for an end to the Gaza War.
Israel accepts the plan of US President Donald Trump to terminate the Gaza War with the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas. “I support your plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a meeting with Trump in Washington. From the Hamas circles it was said that the terrorist organization had received the proposal from the Qatar and Egyptian intermediaries. Accordingly, the Islamists want to “carefully check the plan” before they give an official answer.
In Europe, the plan met with approval – combined with the statement that the ball is now at Hamas. Federal Foreign Minister Johann WadePhul spoke of a “unique opportunity” that should not be wasted. “I urgently ask everyone who can influence Hamas to do this now,” said the CDU politician. French President Emmanuel Macron said that Hamas had “no other choice than to leave all hostages free and to follow this plan”. The British Prime Minister Keir Strander emphasized that Great Britain called up all sides to work with the US government in order to complete and implement the agreement.
This is what the 20-point plan looks like:
End of the fights: If the two sides are approved, the war should be ended immediately – the Israeli military is to withdraw to an “agreed line” and all fighting acts are suspended. Hostus and prisoners: Within 72 hours after Israeli approval to the plan, all hostages (alive or deceased) should be attributed from the Gaza Strip. After that, Israel is said to release around 250 Palestinian prison inmates sentenced to life in prison and arrived around 1,700 after October 7, 2023. For each body attracted from the Gaza Strip, Israel is said to trigger 15 corpses of Palestinians to the Gaza Strip. According to Israeli information, only 20 of 48 hostages are alive. Aid supplies: Immediately after the plan, comprehensive aid deliveries are to be brought into the Gaza Strip. Water and power supply are to be restored and hospitals are to be repaired. The distribution is to be made via the United Nations and the Red Heading Moon as well as other international, independent organizations. People in the Gaza Strip: Nobody should be forced to leave; Departure and return should take place on a voluntary basis. Role of Hamas: Hamas should not be involved in the administration of the Gaza Strip. Hamas members who give up their weapons and promise “peaceful coexistence” can receive or leave the plan for Amnesty. Transitional time: Israel should neither annex the Gaza Strip nor occupy permanently. The area is to be managed by a transitional government of a technocratic Palestinian committee. In addition to Palestinians, international experts are supposed to sit in the committee, which in turn is checked by a “Peace Council” with Trump at the top. The council should belong to other top politicians, such as the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. An international stabilization group (ISF) should ensure security and at the same time train Palestinian police forces. Blair described the plan as “brave and intelligent”. Reconstruction: An internationally financed “Trump plan for economic development”, investments and a special economic zone are planned to create jobs. In the long term, this should promote peace with an “inter -religious exchange” and, after reforming the Palestinian Authority (PA), open a perspective for a Palestinian state.
Netanyahu said about the role of PA: He appreciates Trump’s attitude “that the PA cannot play a role in Gaza without a radical and real transformation.” He also emphasized that civil administration in the Gaza Strip was neither led by Hamas nor by the PA in the West Bank.
It is currently unclear whether Hamas will agree to the plan. So far, the Islamists rejected about a disarmament.
Trump’s “Riviera of the Middle East” met with sharp criticism
In the past few months, various suggestions have been discussed on the question of how the Gaza Strip should be secured and managed after a possible end of the war. In this context, Trump had brought the idea into play to take control of the area and to move the Palestinian population into third countries to transform Gaza into a “Riviera of the Middle East”.
The proposal met with sharp criticism both internationally and in the USA. According to experts, people would displace the Gaza Strip to displace international law. The 20-point plan now said: “Nobody will be forced to leave Gaza.” Those who wanted to go could do this and “also return”. One will “encourage” people to stay.
Netanyahu: “Dramatic progress”
Netanyahu said in Washington that he believes that “today we are taking a decisive step towards the end of the war in Gaza and creating the prerequisites for dramatic progress in peace in the Middle East – and, I think, also in very important Muslim countries.” The plan is in line with the conditions of Israel for the time after the war, said the Israeli head of government.
Trump said with a view to Hamas: “I have the feeling that we will get a positive answer.” One is very close to a solution.
Trump wants to conduct control council for gaza strips
Trump explained to the plan of the “Peace Council” he led as a control body of a possible transitional government in the Gaza Strip to “do a lot”, but at the request of Arabic and Israeli leaders, it is important that he took on this role.
In addition, the Council should belong to other top politicians “and very respected” personalities, the Republican continued. Netanyahu said: “If this international body is now successful, we have finally ended the war.”
The Israeli opposition leader Jair Lapid announced that he wanted Netanyahu a “security net” in the event that the ultra -right coalition partners are now leaving the government in protest. The hardliners in the government are against an end to the war as long as Hamas is not smashed.
And wants to support Trump’s gaza peace plan
The United Nations emphasized their support for the efforts. “The United Nations is ready to support, including the provision of humanitarian aid,” said a UN spokesman in New York when asked about the Trump plan.
Israel does not want to hurt Katar’s sovereignty again
During his meeting with Trump, Netanyahu telephoned with Qatar’s head of government Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Israel had attacked the Hamas leadership in the golf state around three weeks ago. Netanyahu excluded further attacks in the golfemirate during the conversation. “I would also like to assure you that Israel is not planning to violate her sovereignty again in the future,” said Netanyahu.
Israel regrets that a Qatarian citizen had been killed in the attack. “I would like to assure you that Israel has targeted Hamas, not Katarer.” Right -wing extremist coalition members criticized the “submissive apology”.
Qatar is an important US ally on the Golf. In addition to Egypt and the USA, the Emirate conveys in the Gaza War. Qatar had sharply convicted Israel’s attack. Criticism also came from the USA.
Netanyahu also praised the idea of the US government to set up a trilateral group “to clarify the open disputes between our two countries”. Netanyahu initially did not give any further details.
Katar’s Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani welcomed the assurances. According to media reports, Israel’s insurance was never to perform more attacks in Qatar, originally the 21st point of the plan. This was no longer listed in a document published by the White House.
