CDU headquarters: activists penetrate-Linnemann speaks of “attack”

A protest of the “New Generation” group at the CDU federal center in Berlin has been stopped by the police. Several demonstrators stuck to the building near the zoo in the morning, some also came in. The two invaded protest participants had “borrowed from the bust of Konrad Adenauer”, as CDU general secretary Carsten Linnemann said. “They wanted to stick to what didn’t work.” Linnemann announced that the CDU would file a criminal complaint.

The CDU general secretary accused the demonstrators of violating the rules of the democratic constitutional state. “We are experiencing a new dimension of the attack here,” said Linnemann. “These are tough crimes, and the rule of law will intervene here and the deeds will punish,” he said. “We don’t let ourselves be intimidated politically.”

According to the police, around 20 demonstrators took part. Her identities were found, said a spokeswoman. After that, most activists were released. Only three of them were still held and should be brought before an investigative judge.

The “New Generation” group announced that under the motto “The climate adhesives are back” they had to block doors and entrances with superglue and to clarify “mafia -organized power”. It is about the Federal Chancellor and CDU chairman Friedrich Merz and the “machinations and entanglements behind Merz and his multi-layered economic and lobby contacts”.

The “New Generation” group is a successor to the “Last generation” climate protection initiative, which caused a sensation with street blocks.

In the night of Monday, the police had confiscated many aids of a climate protest movement during a check in Berlin-Moabit. Police officers saw how several people invited color buckets, spray cans, transparent and advertising materials into a rental transporter. It was initially not confirmed whether there was a direct connection with the campaign at the CDU. The “new generation” wrote in one of its messenger channels of a police operation in the late evening and confiscated materials.
