Friedrich Merz was the first guest in the new valley format by moderator Pinar Atalay on NTV – and he had some messages ready, for example civil allowance. He also commented on the SPD.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz has announced basic reforms in social and pension policy and demanded more personal responsibility for citizens. “In the future, we will have to do more in our country for retirement care, health insurance and care for care,” said Merz in the NTV program “Pinar Atalay”. Apparition -financed systems alone were no longer sufficient. “We have to strengthen personal responsibility.”
A central point is the so -called active pension. “We want people who can and want to work longer work longer – and create incentives,” said the Chancellor. A tax allowance for later pension entries is planned. Merz also put the fundamental changes to the pension system for discussion: “Someone who started working at the age of 17 and retired at 67 has paid a lot more than someone who only enters into work at 35. Do you don’t have to rate it differently?”
Friedrich Merz wants to reduce labor costs
Merz also called for more efficiency in healthcare. Germany Have one of the most expensive systems in the world. “With these resources, we have to deal sparingly, more than in the past.” At the same time, he announced that he wanted to reduce the labor costs: “We really want to make decisions very seriously now to get the labor costs under control in Germany. Then it is at the company to ensure that they work efficiently.” The coalition wants to advise initial measures on Wednesday.
With regard to the economic weakness of Germany, the “situation is difficult,” said Merz. This also applies to cooperation with the SPD. “I could have already imagined that we had made some decisions earlier. In the coalition with the Social Democrats it is not easy.” Conversely, the SPD will say that it was not easy with the CDU and CSU. “Such a coalition also has to come together. It also has to be built up humanly.”
The weak economy also affects the German auto industry. Merz therefore rejects the burner ban in the EU from 2035 with a view. “My clear idea is that we do not maintain this so -called combustion ban in the form”. Instead, the government should “go to the discussion of the next few weeks and months”. The EU Commission preferred the decision in this regard. “This should be decided this year. And I don’t want Germany to be one of the countries that hold on to this wrong ban,” said the CDU-The boss.
Burner-off is still being discussed in the coalition
In his opinion, it is not a step back. “We also do not promote combustion engines, but we continue to allow them because they are used, for example, in the truck area.” If you prohibit a technology, the work on it will be hired in all companies immediately. “And that’s a serious mistake.” In the world, research is being carried out and developed, also on diesel engines. “I want the Federal Republic of Germany to take part in our industry. That’s why the ban is wrong.”
However, this is a topic that has not yet been discussed in the coalition. “I hope that we will succeed on Thursday.” SPD Environment Minister Carsten Schneider has not yet been convinced, said Merz. “We should enable technologies. That is my goal.”
